Lightsonic, a pioneering software company using fiber optic sensing technology, has raised €3.3 million in a seed investment round to develop intelligent monitoring solutions that enhance sustainability, resilience and security in water utilities and critical infrastructure. The investment was led by Maki.vc, with participation from RAISE Ventures and Sondo.
Lightsonic’s innovative technology leverages existing fiber optic networks to provide real-time, high-resolution monitoring of infrastructure such as water and gas transmission lines, telecom networks, energy grids and subsea assets. By transforming fiber optic cables into advanced sensing systems, Lightsonic delivers scalable, cost-effective, and highly accurate solutions for detecting leaks and threats, preventing failures, and improving operational efficiency.
